Ride your pony

Finally, I dragged my partner out mountain biking. We just happened to be going out west, near the Riverhead forest, where there was supposedly a mountain bike park so I convinced him to take our bikes with us.

When we got to the place the park was supposed to be, there was nothing but a loose metal gated driveway. Luckily someone pulled up with a bike on their roof, so I asked him what was happening with the local biking. He said the tracks were overgrown and pretty rough but still there.

We decided to drive further round to where the ‘proper’ entrance was. This turned out to be a horse riding entry, but there was a biking comp the next day so some of the trails were sign posted.

My bike is more cross country, whereas Mr N’s is more downhill, so we enjoyed different parts of the trails.

I didn’t have any shin guards, so this is what happens when your foot slips off your studded platform pedals.
